Is it possible to read special registers contained into a flash?

Postby rthetiot » 13 Mar 2017 07:21

Hello,

Everything is in the subject.

I would like to read the special registers contained into my flash.

Does the Dataman 40Pro allow this?

Thank you

Hello rthetiot,

Thank you for posting in our forum.

Regarding the special registers, it really depends on the type of device we are talking about, are you able to reveal the full part name of the chip you are working with?

Hi,

The ref is :

Spansion S25F512sagmfi01.

I can read and write it, but I do not see any function to read special options.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards

Hello,

I could not find any mention of the Spansion part name "S25F512sagmfi01", perhaps it is the S25FL512S device? If yes, then the location of the special options are described in our software:

Of course, if the device has been protected then it is not possible to read the contents.

I hope this helps.

Best regards,
