Been having an issue with some eeprom I know are good since I can program using jtag on the PCB board but cant program in the programer and adpter on my 48pro, says i have an overcurrent error on pin 8. Has any one else has this issue? Im currently using the software that was released on the 9th of march 2007.

Hello Jack,
Just to confirm, you should have the adaptor (DIL16/SOIC16 ZIF 150mil).
Also is your device the 8 or 14 pin SOIC?

Yes I do and it is the 8 pin SOIC. Does an older version of the software have this issue?

We have sample chips in both DIP and SOIC package. We can not recreate such a problem here.
We provide enough current to the chip - the overcurrent limit is set with plenty of headroom.
Therefore I am guessing its a local problem.
a) can you perform the selftest plus to check programmer's health
b) is the chip really OK?
c) is the chip you are trying to program alone or soldered into some board with other components around it?
