40PRO and TIBPAL16L8-15CN

Postby Guest » 10 Nov 2011 16:18

Hi Neil

I have the 40PRO now (I upgraded from the S4) and trying to erase/program the TIBPAL16L8-15CN

the problem is i cannot find a device within the PAL16L8 range that the programmer will let me read it let alone erase it

the TIBPAL16L8-15CN is a Texas device and its data sheet is here
http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tibpal16l8-15c.pdf

the data sheet does say its functional equivalent, but faster than a PAL16L8A

I also have a PAL16R4BCN i cannot find a workable setting for. I am still trying to find a datasheet online for this IC
manufacturer: MMI

can you help? Is there a workable solution i could use?

I am using the software v2.75/12.2010 version
many thanks
Andrew

Hello Andrew,

The TIBPAL16L8-15CN and PAL16R4BCN devices are only supported on the Dataman48Pro+ and Pro2 range of single site and gang programmers. The Dataman-40Pro hardware is not able to program chips with a high current requirement, specifically bipolar based chips (PROM, PLD, etc.)

In order to program the TIBPAL16L8-15CN and similar devices you will need to upgrade your programmer.

Details of the D48Pro+ and Pro2 programmers can be found on our website www.dataman.com

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Cheers, many thanks Neil

As i have just recently upgraded from the S4 to the 40Pro, i just dont have the justification or the money to upgrade yet again for another programmer.

thanks for the reply
Andrew
