Charging from a bench supply

I am charging the S4 from a bench supply (cautiously, as advised).
It charges OK, but the INFO function says CHARGER DISCONNECTED OR SUPPLY OFF

Is this normal when the proper AC adapter isn't used ? If so, what does it take to detect a connected charger ?

Hello adriangodwin,

The S4 will only detect that the charger is connected if it is supplied with A/C current, as with the original S4 charger.
