programmer does not see a connected chip

Postby bushdac11@gmail.com » 01 Feb 2024 14:20

Hello from David in Northern Ireland. I tried to use my dataman mem pro to read a 24c16 eeprom but I got a warning that the programmer has no esd protection and it did not see the chip. I reloaded the program software from my original disk but nothing changed. I then looked for updates and reloaded but still no success. I have had excellent use of the programmer up until today. Can anyone give me help please?

Hello David,

Please make sure you have the latest software for the MEMPro which is v3.90.

Can I ask you to recreate the situation that you describe with the 24C16 device, and then generate an info-rich problem report (Help > Create rpoblem report) and email it to support@dataman.com for analysis.

I will be able to advise further once I ahve the complete picture of the situation.

Best regards,

Hello Neil, I have found my problem, it was ME, I hadn't used the programmer for a while and I was putting the 24c16 into the top of the zif socket instead of the part next to the clamping handle.
