Using S4 to flash a bios chip

Postby Guest » 14 Nov 2011 12:32

Dear friends,

I had the same bad luck about two motherboards in the same year. Both are dead due to virus attack (I guess since no updates were tried).

It would be really nice if I could resurrect these mo-bos since I spent a lot of money on them.

I borrowed a S4 programmer for a couple of days and I'm going to try flashing my bios chips (Winbond W29C020 and W29C011A). Unfortunately I have very little experience on this stuff and I don't know who could help me with it.

Could someone on this forum post the sequence steps I should follow to flash the bios?.

I got the S4 attached to serial port of a PC and communication via S4Driver for Windows works fine.

thanks in advance,
Valerio

Hi there,

Please visit our website for further details about loading the BIOS file from your PC to your S4.

Once you have done this it is simply a case of setting the correct address range for the BIOS file (you have not told me what this is) and pressing BURN on your S4.

Please contact me direct on e-mail neil@dataman.com if you require any further assistance.

Regards,

Neil
