Here is what I have: S4 with lib 2.93 512K Ram
I'm trying to burn the above chip and can't get it to work. I can't erase either. I load the file 131072 bytes and the checksums workout ok. I use func-prom to get the right chip selected. I then try test 00000-1FFFF=00000. It then scans the eeprom, it then shows either Blank Rom or Will Burn depending on what chip I use. I then try Burn and it fails on the first byte and show the different values.
What am I doing wrong? What are the proper steps to burning these chips?
What should the contents of the chips be before burning? example: 00 or FF or some other value or doesn't it matter.
Note to people flashing PC Bios chips. When you get the file image, do a hex dump of the file. If you notice -lh5- or some other number after the -lh in the first few bytes of the file then you STILL have to "unpack" the file one more time using a program that reads .lha files. Award does this with their bios files. The output file I've gotten from the .bin file is ORIGINAL.TMP

Hi,
OK, first up switch to the dedicated FLASH library version 1.01 which can be found on our website.
Secondly, try hitting the PROM key and selecting one of the devices next to the one you curently have selected.
Let me know how you get on.
Neil
