Dear fadilgsm,
Thank you for your comments. If you are using the Dataman 48Pro2 to program the AM29LV160 in 48-pin TSOP, then I am afraid you will need to use the Bottom TSOP48 NOR-1 + Top TSOP48 ZIF 18.4mm adapter. The Dataman 48Pro2 can program chips up to 75% faster than previous models and requires the Bottom TSOP48 NOR-1 + Top TSOP48 ZIF 18.4mm adapter to achieve this.
If you would like me to arrange a formal quotation for the Bottom TSOP48 NOR-1 + Top TSOP48 ZIF 18.4mm adapter, please send me a PM with your company name, postal address (including zip/post code) and email address.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require further information.
Best regards,
Daniel Smith

Re: please ADD am29LV160 ADAPTUR DIL48/TSOP48 IN DATMAN 48PR
Hi
I have just got a 48pro2 to just read the AM29F160 chip, I to find I now need a £210 adapter ONTOP of the price I have just paid to get the dataman 48pro2!
why can I just not use a pin for pin adaptor? why do I now need a £200 plus adapter? can I just not hire one? I only need to read 2 chips maximum and £200 plus to read a couple of $7 chips! seems extremely costly and unnecessary especially when the 48pro2 actually has 48 pins!
Why such a high price, there not that expensive to make when I can get a 48pin for pin adapter for less than £20 (£18.36 including delivery!)
I just cannot believe I have had to update my dataman 40 for a dataman 48pro2 to read these chips then find I have more to pay out another £210 on top! where can I hire a adapter for just for a week.
A very disappointed customer

Re: please ADD am29LV160 ADAPTUR DIL48/TSOP48 IN DATMAN 48PR
Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your comments. As explained in my previous post, you will require the Bottom TSOP48 NOR-1 + Top TSOP48 ZIF 18.4mm adapter to read/program the AM29LV160 in 48-pin TSOP when using the Dataman 48Pro2 programmer. If you are using the 48-pin R-TSOP variant, you will require the Bottom R-TSOP48 NOR-1 + Top TSOP48 ZIF 18.4mm adapter.
We can only test and guarantee the programming results of the Dataman 48Pro2 when using the adapters we
offer. Using untested adapters introduces variables outside of our control and cannot be replicated easily when troubleshooting. To guarantee devices are programmed correctly using the Dataman 48Pro2, we would always recommend using adapters sourced from Dataman.
I am sorry that you feel this adapter is expensive however I would like to highlight that the Top TSOP48 ZIF
18.4mm currently provides support for 1950 devices in 48-pin TSOP / R-TSOP through the use of various bottom
boards and has a rated mechinical life of 10,000 actuations.
Regarding hiring an adapter, I am afraid this is not something we offer and you will need to purchase the
correct adapter if you require support for the AM29LV160 in 48-pin TSOP / R-TSOP.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require further information.
Best regards,
Daniel Smith

I have now used the adapter shown above, removed the bottom pin for pin board, made a veroboard equivalent and wired it in accordance to the pdf found online for my old dataman 48xp/uxp, and it worked 100% that 'specialized' adapter was listed on your site for £175 plus postage plus vat etc, so made one hell of a saving spending less than a couple of hours modifying the £18.38 adapter.
will post more details in the dataman 48xp/uxp thread
worked perfect for reading the chips I needed to! don't need the 10000 mechanical life actuation's, only needed 5

Re: please ADD am29LV160 ADAPTUR DIL48/TSOP48 IN DATMAN 48PR
Cheers thanks
perhaps you could start a cheaper 'hobbyists' budget range of adapters for people like myself who don't need 10,000 actuation's or can afford the commercial adapters? especially for the 48XP/UXP adapters which are just a pin for pin change, nothing special on those adapters! sadly being a hobbyist I cannot justify £200 plus on one adapter to read a hand-full of chips, where I would pay £30 or so for a budget adapter as not programming tens of thousands of chips.
If the home made adapter had not have worked my next move would have been to get one for the open board willem programmer as that's a cheap 32 to 48 pin adapter as the willem supports the flash chip in the software.
Sadly I am realizing now Dataman is getting more and more expensive and for universal programmers are only universal when used with specialized adapters, so not really universal any more!
Anyway think about 'hobbyist' adapters, got to be a good plan in this day and age?
cheers

Dear Andrew,
Thank you for your comments and we appreciate the feedback. Our 48-pin single and multi socket universal programmers are typically used in commercial applications where reliability and throughput is paramount. The adapters offered for these programmers are therefore designed to meet these requirements and this is reflected in the price.
Your suggestions will certainly be considered however in future development.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require further information.
