Using S4 to flash a bios chip
Posted: 14 Nov 2011 12:32
Dear friends,
I had the same bad luck about two motherboards in the same year. Both are dead due to virus attack (I guess since no updates were tried).
It would be really nice if I could resurrect these mo-bos since I spent a lot of money on them.
I borrowed a S4 programmer for a couple of days and I'm going to try flashing my bios chips (Winbond W29C020 and W29C011A). Unfortunately I have very little experience on this stuff and I don't know who could help me with it.
Could someone on this forum post the sequence steps I should follow to flash the bios?.
I got the S4 attached to serial port of a PC and communication via S4Driver for Windows works fine.
thanks in advance,
Valerio
