Hello,

I am having problem with dataman S4 with lib 3.0 for 27C256B

The Dataman S4 battery had failure then I changed the battery and I lost the LIB Eprom.
Therefore, I download the LIB 3.0 and loaded into Dataman S4 as instructed.

Then, I put a 27C256B with known data on socket and then press green " SUM ".
The Dataman S4 display as follow

CHKSUM 2716
Address : 00FXX
SUM : 0000 0000

Which I know something wrong, then I tried the Dataman S4 without LIB loaded.
Then, I put the same Eprom on it press green " SUM " again.

The Dataman S4 display as follow.

CHKSUM : 27256
00000, 07FFF
SUM = 0030F400

Besides, I try to download a program from PC to S4, then I am having problem that the screen display " CHKSUM Error " during download.

Is it there have problem in LIB 3.0 or I do something wrong?
Pls advise.
Thanks !

Goloo

Hello Goloo,

The problem lies with having the wrong device selected on the S4.

When you have loaded the library you can either use the AutoID feature (FUNC > PROM) to select the correct device or you can do it manually by pressing the PROM key and then using the arrow keys on the S4 to navigate through the manufacturers and then the supported devices.

If you hit FUNC > PROM with your device in the ZIF socket, you should find that it identifies the device as a 27C256B, simply hit ENTER to accept the selection and you are ready to read/compare/sum and program the device.

If you have any problems, please let me know.
