Can't get 29ee020 working

My S4 works fine with a 27c256 (lib 16 bit 1.22)
but, I can't get my 29ee020 chips to work.. (lib flash 1.13)

Step 1: press "ss" on dataman software. Signature comes back as "29EE020", which is correct

Step 2: press green LOAD key to read device.

Step 3: Replace device with blank device. Press green TEST key. Get "BLANK ROM"

Step 4: press green BURN key. get
FAILED at 0007F
Address 000XX
00000 RAM-C3 ROM=FF

Step 5: try different blank device, same results.

Step 6: Forcefully remove hair from head!!


Also, when I press "FUNC" "BURN" i get
ERASE 29EE020
Sorry, impossible

So I first erased with a different programmer, which of course can also program the devices. But I want my S4 to work

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I believe the device has the code protection enabled. Try hitting FUNC > QUICK and setting code protect to OFF. Then program your chip.
