I have an s4 which I would like to use to program a pic16f84, are these devices compatible ? Thanks for any advice.

Thank you for posting in our users forum. The S4 does indeed support the PIC16F84 device. The full device support list for the S4 can be found on our website here: https://www.dataman.com/downloads/dl/fi ... e_list.pdf
IN order to program this device you will need to purchase the S4 PIC module set which can be found on our website here: https://www.dataman.com/catalog/product ... tegory/20/

The PIC module it is not just a pin swapping module, it has many active components like oscillators, buffers, latches etc. and we do not make the schematic available.
