I'm trying to erase and program a Flash AM29F002BT TSOP package using a ziff adaptor, but the S4 after executing the chip erase procedure, shows that the flash is not empty and the programming fails at address 0000.
(lib 2.86)
Is there any way to force the flash?
(same problem even on an Atmel AT29C040A)

Hi,
Please try the latest library for S4 (revision 2.86) available from our S4 software page, this software corrects this bug.
Regards
Neil

Hi,
I have not clearly specified that atually I'm using the library 2.86, but the trouble is still present.
Is it correct to burn the flash from Addr. 0000 to 3ffff?

This problem has been solved and you now need the dedicated FLASH library version 1.08.
We have moved all FLASH parts out of the main library into their own one. This frees up space in the main library for other non flash parts.
I hope this has not caused too much confusion.

Re: The top post.
Atmel AT20C040A is completely different.
It features two 16kb boot blocks with lockout. Once you lock any of those blocks, it is impossible to unlock it and it is impossible to erase the chip (i.e. erasing the respective blocks).
So it is necessary to buy NEW chip if changes are required.
