Hi
I have serial lib 3.11 and am trying to program a exel 93c46p device. I set the S4 at exel 93c46 and it reads the device with out problems but when i change the data and 'burn' it back it fails everytime with the S4 showing the ram/rom difference. If i change just the first location (from ff to 00)it will sometimes change it correctly but won't change it back again when i try again (from 00 to ff).I have 3 of these devices now and they all do the same. anyone have any ideas?? Or is it just my S4 or is it me?? (my s4 has a serial in the 17xxx range) many thanks

Re: Exel 93c46 eeprom problem with S4
Hi,
I have used S4 serial library v3.11 and Catalyst 93C46 chips OK.
Please, note that there are two S4 serial adaptors from Dataman:
a. ZIF16 - 93Cxx devices should be inserted from the top.
b. ZIF24 - 93Cxx devices should be placed in the middle of ZIF24, i.e. starting from pin 5 of ZIF24.
If you have made the adaptor yourself, can you email us the description, please?
The serial adaptor for 17xxx devices will not program 93Cxxx devices.
Best regards,
Neil

Hi,
Please download this file http://www.dataman.com/files/S4/S4_Serial_Adaptors.zip which contains the details of the serial module.
