Two problems
First the Windows software doesn't seem to control the S4 properly it receives data but doesn't send it to the S4. The S4 receivwes OK from DOS. I've tried this on 2000 and 98.
Second I'm trying to program a 16F268 (v2.38 Lib)with the "S4 PIC-16" adaptor. The adaptor must be one of the originals 1995ish. Is doesn't seem to work. Should it? Or is there another adaptor I need?

Re: Two problems
Hi,
There is no 16F268 device, if you had the PIC16F628 in mind then it would be housed in DIP18? If yes, you need to use the PIC16 module and insert the chip into the ZIF18 on that module.
As for the windows software, please make sure you have the baud rates set the same on both S4 and software and that you have the correct file type selected on the S4.
Hope this helps. .

Re: Two problems
Is it possible to program PIC's that support In-circuit-serial-programming with the Dataman S4? If so, what do I need? If not, help!

Unfortunately we no longer support ISP programming of any devices. This is down to timing issues with the programming cable. We found that the algorithm for the device being programmed in the ZIF would not work reliably when used for ISP.
Having two programming algorithms for each device was not possible.
