Hi.
Have been trying to install a new Dataman 40 pro on a laptop running Windows XP pro with service pack 3 but I keep getting a message "Cannot create a stable subkey under a volatile parent key".
Have tried reinstalling from the CD and the software installs okay but when I connect the Dataman the auto install of the USB drivers fails with the above message. Any ideas anyone as I only have admin rights for a few hours so I'd like to get this resolved today if possible?
Thanks

Re: USB Driver problem Dataman 40 Pro & Win XP
Hello atariste,
I am fairly sure that this is a local problem.
We have no other information about this kind of error relating to our software.
It seems to be a problem with your Windows installation, firewall/antivirus or corrupted registry files.
Questions:
1. do you use any antivirus/firewall software?
2. was the installation of the PG4UW software performed as an administrator?
3. do you have all the latest updates for Windows installed?
4. is the WIN-XP the only OS on this computer?
For a deeper examination we really need a problem report. Please run the PG4UW software, and generate a problem report using the "Help | Create problem report" feature and email the report to support@dataman.com for analysis.
Best regards,
